Answer: Forgiveness is one of the special virtues of Allah. Allahu Gafurun means Allah is the forgiver.

Allah is Oft- Forgiving. Allah forgives human beings. Human beings make mistakes, do wrong and commit
sin. If after committing crimes and doing wrong, human beings are repentant, then Allah on His own

Story of Forgiveness
People of Makkah forced Prophet (sm) to leave Makkah. At Allah’s command he went to Taif to save his life
and preach Islam. They hurled stones at him and his adopted son Zaid. The two were bleeding because of the
stone attack. But he did not curse them but prayed,
“O Allah! They are foolish. They do not understand anything. Kindly forgive them.”
The Great prophet (sm) never took revenge on his murderous enemies. He forgave them with a smile. He
set shining example of forgiveness while he pardoned the people of Makkah when he conquered the city.
The citizens of Makkah were moved by the Great prophet (Sm)’s ideal of love and forgiveness. - Write down five sentences the importance of forgiveness.

Importance/Benefits of Forgiveness
1) No sinner could escape from His punishment if He had not pardoned the crime and sin of humans.
2) It is the moral responsibility of man to forgive others.
3) A person, who has pity and love to a greater degree and who can keep his anger under control can
become compassionate.
4) A forbearing individual is loved by all.
5) Allah has declared reward for this type of persons. Allah has announced,
“There is reward with Allah for those who forgave and settled disputers among people.”
Allah says, “Those control anger and forgive people, Allah loves such kind of virtuous people”.
